FAQs

3D Intraoral Scanner

What is an Intraoral scanner?

Intraoral scanners (IOS) are devices for capturing direct optical impressions in dentistry.
The images of the dento-gingival tissues (as well as the Implant scan bodies) captured by imaging sensors are processed by the scanning software, which generates point clouds.

What are Dental Scanners used for?

Scanners have a variety of uses, including designing precision full-ceramic crowns, veneers, inlays, and occlusal guards, as well as assisting with implants.

Are digital impressions more accurate?

Digital impressions are easier, faster, and more accurate. Using an imaging system, your oral health professional can scan your teeth and gums to build a complete 3D model of your mouth. Using this precise image, your dentist can then fabricate a Dental Crown or Prosthetic to spec.

What is Digital Dentistry?

Digital dentistry refers to the use of dental technologies or devices that incorporates digital or computer-controlled components to carry out dental procedures rather than using mechanical or electrical tools. Used as a way to facilitate dental treatments and propose new ways to meet rising patient demands.

How does Digital Dentistry work?

The scanners make a 3D Digital image of your mouth that dental technicians can use to design a prosthesis (Crowns, Veneers, Onlays, Inlays, Bridges, Implant-supported restorations, or Dentures), and the prosthesis is then either milled out of a solid block of material or 3D printed. We can also scan & plan for Dental Braces treatment, Digital Smile Design & other cosmetic dental treatments.

Why is Digital Dentistry important?

To be considered a clear advantage, the area of digital dentistry must include three things: Improved efficiency — both cost and time. Improved accuracy in comparison to previous methods. A high level of predictability of outcomes. At LASER DENTAL, we use world’s most advanced 3D Scanner “Trios 3” by 3 Shape.

What is the latest technology in Dentistry?

Laser dentistry is the latest advancement in dental technology, treating a wide range of dental and cosmetic problems from cavities to gum disease to teeth whitening. The lasers we use in laser dentistry at our practice are an alternative to the common hand-held scalpel, drills, or other tools. 3D Dental Scanner is the most advanced technological advancement in 21st century. It has endless opportunities in dentistry. At LASER DENTAL we utilize both Laser & 3D Scanning facilities.
